Within the virtual space of a chatroom, each user curates and manages the information they will communicate and reveal. Using the visual cropping tool to isolate visual information that they will display while at the same time removing any unwanted visual data. Among the billions of information exchanged daily in the online universe, it is observed that pictures of body are a dominant stimulus. Users, as modern Narcissuses, use their screens as mirrors but also as virtual windows through which they see the “cropped” image of others.
The project CHAT evolves in a scenic environment and through the bodies of 2 dancers exposes the body and its image to an ideal miniature of the online universe.
