Manos Milonakis

FESTEN and other soundtracks

Vitruvian Thing, Ptolemaeon 29A, 4th fl., 54630, Thessaloniki
Known also as a founding member of Your Hand In Mine, Manos Milonakis presents his theatrical soundtracks live at Vitruvian Thing. His new album Festen (Moderna Records), soundtrack of the like-titled sold-out play at NTNG and Athens Epidaurus Festival, will be performed in its entirety, supplemented by abstracts from his previous works for theatre (Zyklon, Glaros).
Manos Milonakis, composer and architect, was born in Thessaloniki, where he lives and works. He studied piano and advanced music theory. His involvement with composition, orchestration, and music production, started in 2006, when he founded, together with Giorgos Papadopoulos, the band Your Hand In Mine, the project that in essence introduced him to composing for imagery.

He engaged in research of “sonic” arhitecture and the role of subjectivity in auditory perception of architectural space (Soundscapes, 2008).

In the summer of 2014, he travelled to Reykjavik, where, together with local musicians, he recorded his first personal EP, Sólfar, for piano and string quartet. Later, he composed original music for theatre plays by the National Theaters of Northern Greece and Romania, for independent productions, documentaries, online videos, and TV spots, while selectively performing live in special venues and occasions.

In May 2017, his third solo album is released, the soundtrack for the play “FESTEN”, by Canadian label “Moderna Records”.

Performing with him:
Thodoris Papadimitriou (cello)
Elisso Papastrati (violin)
Giorgos Papadopoulos (guitar, synths)
